The wordpress website has gone through several redesigns and now uses the Blocksy theme and the modern mobile friendly long page design. The site includes extensive use of forms and pdf downloads.

Eagle Controls supply Large Digit Displays including Time, Date, Temperature, Counts, Weights, Volumes, Targets, Production Process, Safety displays throughout the world.

Above all Chris Parfitt wanted his website(s) to rank highly in Google. So we discussed at length how content needs to be focused around search engine phrases and how design needs to support the use of the keyword phrases, then we set about creating suitable content and optimising it.

The WordPress websites have gone through several redesigns. The latest launched in summer 2022 to bring them up to the latest web standards. And a Canadian site has been added splitting off from the US site.

All 3 sites use the modern and fast Blocksy theme and a mobile friendly “long page design”. The sites include extensive use of forms and pdf downloads.

We now have a long working relationship and I provide ongoing maintenance on the sites as required.

Here is the story in Chris Parfitt’s words:

When the WEB was beginning to take off,  we like millions of others HAD to have a WEB SITE.   But it was also essential to have the knowledge of how to make it work properly for  ‘ your ‘ business.  Of that part of the euphoria,  we HAD no knowledge at all.

A good Web Site, it was claimed, could grow the business and was going to transform advertising as we knew it  –  FOREVER!  I read many articles by many different small business owners,  how having a  Web Site, was transforming their businesses.   But the key was how it was constructed and the presentation of message to make it stand out.

I had to know HOW.

Up to then,  all that was available to us for promoting ourselves was expensive advertising in Trade Magazines,  Expensive Exhibitions and Mail Shot. None of which paid for themselves.   Any magazine advertising proved worthless after about a week of publication.  Exhibitions were just an excuse to have a day out on expenses and Mail Shot was a complete waste of time,  so we soon stopped it.  Our presence in our market was just as anonymous using these promotional tools, as if we had done nothing!  

I investigated what was required for us to have any chance of enjoying this growth and how a WEB SITE could help.  The three letters ‘ SEO ‘ kept being banded about followed by ‘ but you need a GOOD one ‘.  To me at the time ‘ SEO ‘ was just another BUZZ WORD,  created by a new industry to make it sound more mysterious.

Asking a trusted Brother-in-Law,  who,  was a Director in a well-known large Advertising / Marketing agency in London,  he patiently explained what an SEO was and what a good knowledgeable SEO could do for us.  AND at the time, we had one living and working in our home town.  So I contacted them.

That is how I met Michael Spencer, owner of Epsilis,  who came to see me and look at our attempt of a WEB SITE.  I was sceptical at first as I knew nothing about the subject matter, which seemed to be littered in discussion with new phrases and the BUZZ WORDS,  all describing things about the WEB,  which naturally made me nervous.

It turned out to be the best and most positive meeting I was likely to make in promoting and building up my business.

Obviously our existing WEB SITE was useless.  It had no chance of doing anything for us.   So we had to start again !

So Michael and I put our heads together and with his knowledge of how GOOGLE works,  the right wording and how it was laid out,  to describe our products. I wrote the technical detail,  which had to be carefully précised, so as not to overwhelm the reader and lose their interest. Michael provided the very valuable GOOGLE KNOWLEDGE as an SEO,  we employed a professional photographer and with Michaels unquestionable knowledge, we put it all together.

He produced the most PROFESSIONAL,  EYE CATCHING,  EASY TO READ AND NAVIGATE,  Web Site to be proud of and we have not looked back.  

I can say with all honesty what Michael produced is now responsible for 100% of our sales, which are growing year on year with many repeat purchases and many referrals from within our industries potential customers.

The WEB SITE is live 24 hours a day,  7 days a week,  WORLD WIDE,   it catches the eye of Engineers across the globe from the UK to New Zealand to New York.   At negligible cost.

We have now opened  sales offices in the USA and Canada with a US and Canadian version of our UK site and sales are taking off. 

I would strongly recommend Michael to develop your WEB SITE,   he understands different products and who their market is,  we engage Michael on a rolling yearly agreement to oversee the site for any changes to products we make and he sorts out any technical issues between us and the Server,  usually within hours of us reporting it.
